Michele Morrone gives out his opinion on ‘It Ends With Us’ co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s sexual harassment case
Michele Morrone has expressed solidarity with Blake Lively following her lawsuit against her former It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, for alleged sexual harassment and arranging a smear campaign.
In a heartfelt Instagram video shared on Monday, Morrone, who is set to star alongside Lively in the upcoming sequel to A Simple Favor, described witnessing Lively’s distress after filming It Ends With Us.
In regards to this, Morrone said, “Blake was in pain. I felt something was wrong, and we had the chance to talk. It’s heartbreaking to see cruel comments about her without knowing the truth.”
According to Daily Mail, Lively filed the lawsuit on Saturday, accusing Baldoni of fostering a toxic workplace environment, including showing her explicit content and making inappropriate remarks about her weight, family, and colleagues.
Moreover, the Gossip Girl star hopes her legal action will shed light on harmful workplace practices and prevent others from experiencing similar misconduct.
Additionally, Morrone also urged the public to read a detailed New York Times report about the allegations before passing judgement while he concluded, “Blake, I love you. Keep going—we’re all here for you.”
As per the publication, the controversy surrounding It Ends With Us, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel, has sparked widespread attention, with several celebrities, including Amy Schumer, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Lively’s Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars, voicing their support.
Meanwhile, Baldoni denied the allegations, claiming the lawsuit is an attempt to repair Lively’s public image after the film’s tumultuous release.
Furthermore, the Vital Voices organization recently rescinded an award honoring Baldoni for his advocacy for women’s rights in light of the accusations, as per the outlet.
