‘Home Alone’ star Daniel Stern shares why he hasn’t seen the film since 1990
Daniel Stern, famous for playing one half of the Wet Bandits in the holiday classic Home Alone, has revealed he hasn’t seen the movie since its 1990 premiere.
In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Stern said, “I’ve seen clips. I’ve seen it pop up. Or like, they have highlights when you turn on the TV, I turn on the TV and there I am falling on the toys or something.”
“But yeah, I mean, what, am I going to hunker down and watch me?” he jokingly said.
However, the actor admitted, “I love the movie. It’s tremendous. I know the script inside and out.”
He explained that once he completes a movie, he is “done with them, they’re not dead … Creatively, they’re done.”
“I need to go to the next one. My head is totally forward on the next thing I’m making. And by the time the movie comes out, that was a year ago, and it is great, but I don’t want to go back. I did it. I shot it. I know it. The script was good. That scene went that way. And I’ll see it once and go, yeah, that was good… I just go forward,” the actor stated.
Although the film is still popular especially during holiday season, Stern has moved on from his Home Alone days.
Stern has embraced quieter life in recent years, “stepping away” from Hollywood.
