Demi Moore opens up about her surprise ’80s reunion with Rob Lowe during a screening event in Beverly Hills
Demi Moore recently shared her excitement over reuniting with her St. Elmo’s Fire and About Last Night co-star, Rob Lowe, during a special screening event in Beverly Hills.
In regards to this, Moore captioned an Instagram post as, “About Last (Saturday) Night with @roblowe. An ’80s reunion to round out 2024 — thank you, Rob, for introducing our @trythesubstance screening! Grateful for the past, the present, and what’s yet to come.”
According to US Weekly, the pair reunited on December 14 at a screening of The Substance, where Lowe surprised fans by joining Moore onstage.
Moreover, the duo posed for photos alongside Moore’s dog, adding a touch of warmth to the nostalgic moment.
While answering questions from the audience, Moore was caught off guard when Lowe sprang from his seat to help her pick a favorite film from her career.
In this regard, he joked by saying, “I’m gonna give you a little help with that one,” while walking onstage to hug Moore and name About Last Night as her standout project.
Additionally, Moore introduced him to the crowd as “a special guest Mr. Rob Lowe.”
As per the publication, the reunion was a sentimental nod to their iconic collaborations in St. Elmo’s Fire (1985) and About Last Night (1986).
Meanwhile, Lowe later shared his pride for Moore’s work on Instagram by writing, “So proud of my great friend, Demi, and her amazing movie.”
Furthermore, the moment also ties back to Lowe’s October appearance on Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk About It podcast, where he reflected on his work with Moore as Lowe stated, “If I had to pick one [project from the ’80s], it would for sure be About Last Night,” while admitting that the pair had a brief romance during that era.
It is worth mentioning that Lowe further teased the possibility of a sequel to St. Elmo’s Fire while revealing, “All of the actors are on board. Everybody’s excited.”
